  • They are US companies? Many people in the US support democracy? I don't know the list of reasons seems to go on and on. Unless you like the idea of corporations being above any local government like some sort of super-national entity I don't understand what the objection would be.

  • Well, on the upside, if MS has to give the UK a back door I'm sure other people will be able to easily access it, thus ruining the entire trusted computing initiative. Not that I think people wouldn't be able to crack it anyway, but a built in public back door always helps :)

  • Well, I largely agree, he is pandering to the social conservatives though. Who wants a right to homosexual activity? All of our rights are not enumerated in the constitution. For example it doesn't say you can have heterosexual sex either, and it shouldn't who cares.
